Keep on Loving

okay this will be super short, but more to come tomorrow (maybe :) I just got off the phone with my rockin' fiance (the pic is a flower that came from a gorgeous bouquet from him for my bday and our names in Greek! so cool!) So now am ready to hit the hay, but i learned the coolest thing in Greek today and just feel the urge to share it with the world!

All scripture is from God ( 2 Tim. 3:16), but it is cool to see how God spoke through the writers of scripture, including the use of their own individual personalities. John, the writer of the gospel of John around 90 AD is many times referred to as the "Beloved Disciple" or as "the disciple Jesus loved."I guess to many it could sound a little "full of himself" for John to write and "the disciple Jesus loved...." talking about himself right? But today we learned about the different verb tenses in Greek, and one tense I guess that it's just the past tense would make words like "like", "talk", and "laugh" into the words "liked" talked" and "laughed" right? Well there is another tense in Greek that is not in English that i'll just nickname the "continuing tense" so verbs like "like", "talk" and "laugh" would become (in english) kept on liking, to keep on talking, and kept on laughing. WELL (apologies for the long intro!), in Greek the phrase "the disciple Jesus loved" should really be translated as "the disciple Jesus kept on loving." This was monumental for me. John was no longer a "confident" disciple but now became a lowly, humble servant of His savior.

May we take the same approach in life. God loves us. And isn't it so refreshing to know that God "keeps on loving" us even after all we do to profane His name and what He died for?

Live your life in light of His grace.

And with that, goodnight world :)

A New Semester, A New Goal...

Fail #2... Goal #1: well in light of recent broken promises I have decided to take (or...write?) smaller bites ... My goal is to write at least weekly and it may be as short as two sentences but a weekly blog will be posted consistently if it's the last thing I do! So... I'm in the Sebts library right now getting ready for my last class of the day "New Testament Theology" and then headed home for a b.day celebration, woot! I haven't really decided how I feel about this whole 20 thing yet.. but then again I guess I don't really have a say in it do I? haha.

It looks like it will be a great semester as of now, Classes: History of Ideas 3, Greek 1, Theology 3, and New Testament Theology. Goal (#2) of the semester besides keep my head above water= Get an "A" in Greek... Monday Nights I am also having a discipleship group for some sweet girls at my church, we are reading "Passion and Purity" by Elisabeth Elliot. Monday night we had an awesome conversation about "small sins" and how readily we justify our sins. More to come about that later on.

I leave you with a crazy statistic I heard last night in Theo.3:
-In the year 1900, 90% of Christians were in North America and Europe. Presently, 75% of Christians are in Asia and the Southern Hemisphere... Think about it and be a missionary to the people you come in contact with daily...
